Terms of service

Effective Date: April 25, 2025

Welcome to The Filing Squad- Public Records Experts ("Company," "we," "us," "our"). By using our website and services, you ("user," "client," "you," "your") agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

1. Services Provided

We offer assistance with:

  • Public Records Requests to Police Departments, Sheriff's Offices, and Clerk of Court offices

  • Preparing rough drafts for:

    • Judge complaint assistance

    • Attorney complaint assistance

We do not submit complaints or legal documents on your behalf, represent you in legal proceedings, or guarantee any specific outcome. Final filing and responsibility for submissions rests entirely with you.

2. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide complete, accurate, and detailed information necessary for the preparation of your request or draft.

  • Include all required names, case numbers, bar numbers, dates, times, facts, and any supporting evidence.

  • Understand that anonymous complaints are not permitted for judge or attorney complaints and your identity must be disclosed in those cases.

  • Personally file any complaints or public records requests as instructed.

Failure to provide full and accurate information may result in a weaker or incomplete draft.

3. Public Records Request Fees

All states charge separate governmental fees for fulfilling public records requests.
You acknowledge that:

  • Governmental fees are separate from the service fees you pay us.

  • You are responsible for paying any invoices issued by the agency processing your public records request.

  • All email correspondence, including any invoices or fee notices from the agency, will be forwarded directly to you.

  • Public records will not be released until any required government fees are paid.

We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by your failure to pay these additional governmental fees.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are granted only under limited circumstances, specifically when:

  • A public records request cannot be made due to state regulations (e.g., residents-only laws), or

  • A refund is approved on a case-by-case basis, and no work has been started at the time the refund is requested.

Once work begins (including communications, research, or drafting), no refund will be issued, even if the request cannot ultimately be fulfilled.

By purchasing our services, you agree to this limited refund policy.

5. No Legal Advice or Representation

We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or legal representation.
Our services are limited to administrative support and public information assistance.
No attorney-client relationship is created through use of our services.

If you require legal advice or representation, you must consult a licensed attorney.

6. Custom Fee Arrangements

We understand that financial situations vary, and some requests may be simpler than others.
At our discretion, we may offer a lower service fee based on:

  • The client’s financial situation (no proof or documentation required)

  • The simplicity and limited scope of the request

To request a custom fee arrangement:

  • You must contact us using the "Contact Us for Custom Fee Arrangement" form available on our website.

  • You will receive a response within 1–3 business days with either:

    • An acceptance

    • A counter-offer

    • A request for additional details

If approved, you will receive an email with a custom offer to be used on our website for your purchase.
Custom offers are valid for 15 days from the date sent and may expire thereafter if not used.

Approval of a lower rate is not guaranteed and is handled on a case-by-case basis.

7. Privacy and Confidentiality

We respect and prioritize your privacy.

  • For public records requests, we agree to keep your identity confidential on our end and will not voluntarily disclose your identity to any third party unless legally compelled to do so.

  • All information you provide will be used solely for the purpose of assisting with your public records request or complaint draft.

  • Please note: For judge and attorney complaints, your identity must be disclosed as part of the official process, and anonymity cannot be maintained.

We take reasonable steps to safeguard your information and maintain your privacy wherever the law allows.

8. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Denial or delay of public records requests

  • Rejection or dismissal of judicial or attorney complaints

  • Any actions or inactions by governmental agencies

  • Any legal consequences resulting from your filings

Our maximum liability, under any circumstance, is limited to the amount paid for our services.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued use of our website and services after updates constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
